Describe all aspects of abandon ship procedure. What equipment does the Coast Guard require on your lifeboat or life raft?
Describe all aspects of man overboard procedure. What is the first action for the watch leader to take? What is expected of the crew? How will radio, MOB equipment, and electronic navigation instruments be employed? How will the man be retrieved?
Describe firefighting as a combined crew effort.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of ship’s bilge pumping equipment and manifold arrangement, including manual pump, electric pump, pump valves and suction lines.
Demonstrate successful underway radio communication with the USCG, High Seas operator, or other appropriate shore station.
